Ted Simpson is a documentary filmmaker specialising in stories from the wild edges, and co-founder of Scout Studio.
My work intersects society, nature and the environment, exploring complex topics through human stories.
I am passionate about the power of documentary and nonfiction storytelling, and I’m naturally drawn to nuanced, thought provoking stories that challenge preconceptions.
I specialise in cinematic environmental storytelling, combining emotion with science communication. I am a two time winner of ‘Best Environmental Film’ at the world renowned Banff Mountain Film Festival, including for my most recent feature length film, The Eagle With The Sunlit Eye.
I am based in Cornwall, UK, and I’m available to work worldwide both as a freelance director for long and short form, and on commissioned branded storytelling and independent film projects through my production company, Scout Studio.
